Rate Increases
In December 2024, the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission approved rate increases for Avista.
The increase will be an additional 9.5% by 2026, to raise the average monthly electricity bill to about $121.46.

Solar incentives for Washington residents
- Washington homeowners are eligible for a refund of 100% of the sales tax on all Photovoltaic (PV) solar systems.
- Washington homeowners are eligible for the federal Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC). The ITC allows you to deduct at least 30% of the cost of installing a solar energy system from your taxes.
- Washington homeowners are eligible for the federal Domestic Content Bonus Credit (DCBC). The DCBC allows you deduct an additional 10% of the cost of installing a solar energy system when a certain percentage of the solar energy system is manufactured in the United States.
